Crop Planning for 2025

Last year was not good, mostly due to pests diseases and planning.  This fall, thanks to the help of the soil and plant nutrition specialists at Advancing Eco Agriculture, things are looking much brighter.

With the nutrition and pest issues resolved, it’s time to tackle planning.  Last year I focused a lot of attention on avg. last frost date.  This resulted in hardly any produce to sell at the beginning of the market and rather large gaps between crops.

For the coming season I am focusing on days to harvest and working backward.  Figuring out what day I want to harvest and then working my way back to find what day the crop has to be planted.

In the hopes of saving all you local producers some research time,  I am posting a chart of days to harvest for most of the food crops I am growing, plus a few more.  I hope you find this helpful.  Hope to see you all at the local growers meeting on December 15th, 1:00pm here at Farmstand on Fishmarket for the local growers meeting.

All you faithful followers out there, we look forward to seeing you at the first market of 2025,  Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 4th to start shopping for plant starts for your home gardens and food for your tables. God Bless.
